My client is seeking a customer focussed Business Support Officer.

This person will be responsible for all aspects of their telephony service, including landlines, mobiles and data circuits. This person will act as the first point of contact for our internal customers, handling and processing their orders while delivering excellent customer services. You will also deal with their main suppliers, ensuring that their service meets the standards we expect, handling any resulting queries and issues.

In addition to this you will also be you also be expected to cover the following duties:

• Handle telephone calls/correspondence for the team, resolving such queries as possible or taking messages as appropriate
• Processing customer orders from the IT shop – handling deliveries, stock, and mobile phone queries.
• Responsible for receipt, control and distribution of stock
• Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotes on hardware and software as required
• Responsible for raising purchase orders and processing invoices
• Scanning of all invoices, orders and documentation relating to the business unit
• Providing admin and financial support to the team as directed by the business support manager


You will be the first point of contact for many of the staff, so it’s important that you have excellent customer service skills. You will need to be quick to learn and have a "can do" attitude to all tasks. Being a good team player is essential, as well as being able to keep up with a fast-paced environment.

Being able to assimilate and interpret high volumes of data is essential, and you will need strong Microsoft Excel skills. In addition to great communication skills to be able to deal with a wide range of internal customers and external suppliers is equally important. Good attention to detail and organisational skills is a must as well as being calm under pressure and staying enthusiastic!
