Android Developer - IoT - Luton - £45k - £70k Depending on Experience
Our IoT / Smart Building software applications provider requires an experienced Android Developer, joining due to organic growth in IoT.
The Internet of Things is a widely spoken topic across the technology landscape where use case can outweigh revenue generating deployment. Fortunately this is not the case for this employer, you will be developing a number of applications to be used in real life, physically connected environments.
This team will be at the forefront of building their next generation product offering i.e. cloud/SaaS based content management, retail management and mapping / way-finding software.
This role provides a solid platform for career progression and live projects are always guaranteed which I know is a motivator for gregarious Android Developers
If you've worked in a digital agency you'll appreciate the pace and dynamism that Android developers need to embrace and appreciate as an instrumental part of the design and development team. What this means is you need to have passion for the job, enjoy a challenge and work well under pressure.
Agency experience is desirable, however a robust creative is essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ANDROID DEVELOPER
Design and build highly engaging Android applications for the "connected world"
Be a natural collaborator within cross-functional teams
A key contributor on how to define, design, build
To not be afraid to challenge and evaluate in a constructive manner. There will be plenty of opportunity to implement and maximise the development of new technologies.
Self-motivated individual with considerable interest and experience in creating performant UI, with a willingness to think beyond Android design guidelines.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE OF THE ANDROID DEVELOPER
3 years Android development experience
Be able to talk through your commercial portfolio demonstrating skills and capabilities
Knowledge of third-party libraries, frameworks and APIs
Be engaged and passionate about mobile technology, trends and the IoT
DESIRABLE CORE SKILLS (Not expected to have all)
RxJava2, Dagger2, Kotlin, RxBindings, Butterknife, Retrofit, Picasso, GSON, okhttp3, SQLite, MS Azure, MVP Architecture, Google Play Services, Google FireBase Messaging, Push Notifications using BlueTooth Beacons, Unit Testing,
Espresso, JUnit4, Scrum, Story Breakdown and estimation, Sprint Planning, Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Agile
Apps with responsive and appealing UI developed that are available in PlayStore.
