Design and maintain the company’s Operational Risk Reporting Framework, ensuring that the Chief Risk Officer / Director Operational & Conduct Risk receive the MI to execute their accountabilities through the aggregation of first line risk reporting to provide the company’s wide perspective. Provision of independent second line opinion on first line risk decisions, judgement and proposals in relation to Operational Risk Appetite and reporting by providing a continuous point in time oversight of first line proposals and management of Operational Risk Data

Ability to engage with senior leaders, to support and challenge the development of the Risk Appetite Framework across level 1 risk types and embedding in 1LoD operations.
Demonstrable ability to own and resolve complex issues with multiple stakeholders across the company.
Ability to constructively challenge senior leaders and provide insightful oversight opinions on 1st line of defence proposals.
Analytically minded with a drive to continually improve processes and procedures.
Awareness of latest market practice and opportunities presented by digital and automated technologies.
Strong organisational skills and a demonstrable ability to maintain a forward looking activity plan.
Develop wide roles and responsibilities and standards for the execution of Operational risk management and reporting
Ensure that Operational Risk infrastructure, governance, and risk systems allow the business to identify and manage risks accordingly
Periodically review the design and implementation of companies wide roles and responsibilities and standards for the execution of Operational Risk reporting
Design and maintain the Operational Risk Management Reporting framework ensuring consistency across Level 2 risk types
Apply the appropriate and tolerance of Operational Risk (and losses) in line with the companies risk appetite
Develop and maintain data quality and availability standards consistent with regulatory expectations
Lead the execution of the collation of Chief Risk Offer /Operational and Conduct Risk Director reporting – where appropriate; and ensure areas of dependency are provided with the relevant data and MI
Develop, maintain and periodically review the methodology and process for the production of Operational Risk Management MI and Reporting
Review, challenge and provide expert opinion on any proposed changes to the Operational Risk appetite
Maintain accurate records of risk management activity including relevant data collection in compliance with the companies records policy
Ensure data held within the Operational Risk System (Active Risk Management) ARM can be used in the day to day decision making process
Oversight of businesses contribution under ICAAP Pillar II
Lead the business to undertake the annual Control Effectiveness Reviews
Maintain, report, and update the Operational and Conduct Risk Oversight Plan
Manage third party relationship with ARM in accordance with the companies Procurement Policy and Standards

Excellent Communication, Cultural and Embedding practice experience.
Ability to tailor message and approach to suit the audience.
A strong understanding of Risk-related regulation (e.g. Basel and BCBS 239 Principles for effective risk data aggregation and risk reporting) and Accounting Standards (i.e. IFRS) and its application and impact in the Retail and Corporate banking industry.
An understanding of quantitative and qualitative methodologies used in the management of risk.
Excellent stakeholder and relationship management skills.
Proven ability to communicate and influence on complex issues; verbally and in writing particularly to senior leaders
Proven ability to use global perspective and diverse views and information to reach optimal solutions.
Eliminates unnecessary bureaucracy to enable decision making and retains a long term focus.
Proven ability to continuously improve processes and procedures.
Understanding of potential digital and automated solutions relating to process improvement.
