TITLE: Infrastructure and Communications Officer
SALARY: £32,628 - £41,025

My client is looking to hire a permanent Infrastructure and Communication officer to join a multi skilled team of six to maintain and develop all ICT Infrastructures. Delivering the key objectives for all ICT staff and supporting the delivery of the ICT Strategy and associated roadmaps.
The infrastructure and Communications Officer will support the development of the Council’s ICT infrastructure including but not limited to infrastructure management and maintenance, voice and data networks, backup recovery and archiving, telephony, unified communications, AV, webcasting, security, desktop services and applications.
You will be joining us at an exciting transition period as they relocate to a new Civic Centre and embrace more agile ways of working and build a new Greenfield Data Centre to help create new shared services across London.

Key Technical requirements:

• Work as part of the Infrastructure and Communications Team to develop and maintain all infrastructure and communications to their full potential;
• Support the delivery of the ICT Strategy and associated ICT Roadmaps, taking the lead on projects when required;
• Support and maintain all Infrastructure and network solutions for multiple agencies whether internal or external who obtain services from the Council. Support planned out-of-hours work for upgrades, patching, re-starts, etcas requested;
• Provide support to ensure all change control is completely effectively, to up to date documentation is in place for the maintenance of all systems, networks and related environments. ensuring all systems are fully operational, patched, compliant, correctly licensed and supported;
• Complete all support tickets and identify trends and minimise avoidable contact;
• Look beyond the immediate problem to the wider implications to generate new and innovative solutions to complex problems;
• Ensure that any DR requirements are highlighted to the project team and address them, ensuring that the appropriate DR provider is notified and that you update the DR plan accordingly;
• Support the maintenance of PSN CoCo compliance, helping with audits and remediation work and preventing changes which will cause the authority to breach the agreement;
