IT Systems Expert

• Support the clients IT team in regular service management tasks
• Support to clients project managers

Regular IT service management tasks

• Provides 1st level support for the clients staff for all IT problems, via email or telephone
• Maintains the standard desktop image of the client
• Monitors and troubleshoots the windows server environment
• Supports incident and problem management for the server and desktop environment
• Provides troubleshooting of printers
• Helps the IT team in administrative tasks like inventory management, documentation etc.
• Develops, tests and deploys desktop application packages
• Produces technical documentation
• Contributes to the technical design and drafts technical specifications of IT systems for Windows environments Regular project support tasks
• Contributes to project planning and documentation
• Supports the IT team across multiple projects in the IT work plan
• Performs general administrative and specific project tasks (e.g. reporting, communication, coordination, etc.)
• Assembles, collates, distributes and archives project information and provides this information on request
• Updates project information and maintains project records. This includes the preparation and follow-up of project related documents, like project plans, status reports, letters and memos, tracking of deliverables and approvals, etc.
• Administers project related communication, sometimes acting as focal point for the projects, using any kind of communication tool required for the project (e.g. email, documents, wiki pages), and ensuring an efficient communication flow within and outside the project
• Ensures the proper setup and follow up of project-related meetings (e.g. summarising of feedback on documents and minutes; tracking of project activities and actions)
Specific tasks
• Supports the clients business-driven project managers in the management of projects with a considerable involvement of IT, e.g. projects to select tools to streamline administrative support processes. This includes analysing the existing situation, describing the desired future situation, defining key business, functional and user requirements and planning the procurement of certain software tools.

Required qualifications and expertise
• Advanced university degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Physics or
Proven ability to perform the tasks commensurate with such a formal academic qualification
