Finance Associate

Role accountabilities

Individual responsibilities and duties include:
Whilst this role sits within the Financial Analysis team, it is focused on the review, oversight and approval of revenue calculations (within invoices) produced by our outsourced provider. The invoicing process is fundamental to everything that is done and is a great opportunity to for someone to immerse themselves in how the organisation works and to learn about the Asset Management industry. The individual will get exposure to all of the products, they will need to understand the fees with each product, how these are calculated and why they differ.

Primary responsibility is to support the revenue calculation review and approval process
• Review complex fee calculations produced by outsourced provider within invoices.
• Ensure fee calculation including tiers, discounts and sub holdings are appropriately calculated
• Respond to queries from outsourced provider
• Ensure high priority invoices are dispatched in a timely manner.
• Promptly investigate and resolve any data issues

Fee Calculation process
• Interpret IMA’s (Investment Management Agreement) and Fee schedules to produce fee templates for outsourced provider
• Challenge Client Services and Client Directors on fee structures
• Manage the fee template procedure end to end

Develop understanding of fees and products
• Review IMAs, fee templates and fee schedules
• Ensure any interpretation of fees and products is valid

Relationship management
• Build strong relationships with Client Services and Client Directors
• Build working relationship with outsourced provider
• Challenge outsourced provider to deliver high performance
• Ensure key stakeholders are kept informed

Invoice process management
• Track individual invoice progress
• Manage invoice workflow through internal and outsourced provider
• Manage multiple invoices at different stages of review

Performance tracking
• Monitor outsourced provider KPIs
• Track errors and issues within the invoicing process
• Suggest areas for improvement

Strategic process:
• Participate in strategic review of invoicing process

Assist in ad hoc requests from the business

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Essential
• Strong academic background
• Experience in a Finance function
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem solving skills
• Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups etc)
• Attention to detail
• Would suit someone who is organised by nature

Personal qualities:
• Proactive, enthusiastic and keen to learn
• Motivated
• Ability to work independently
• Team player
• Good communication skills (oral and written)
