Quality Assurance Automation Tester - Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire - Permanent - up to £28k base

One of our clients is looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Tester within their audit technical team to help support and advise on audit infrastructure set-up, help build strong error free technical solutions for their end clients and test audit software/scripts using automated testing. You will be responsible for finding, resolving and reporting any bugs and/or glitches.

- Candidates need to have automated testing experience, rather than manual testing;
- Candidates need to be able to write and read scripting language;
- Candidates need to have an understanding of the internet - ie how's it set up, what scripting is behind it?
- Be able to write some code

You'll be responsible for identifying, resolving and preventing repetition of errors/bugs both in audit infrastructure and scripts. Document test plans, test cases, execute testing and record results. Re-write reports and repeat testing and conduct appropriate technical tests pre-release of new developments; along with supporting and testing app development including SDK. Assisting with some audit scripting issues and working across and using a number of different platforms, tools and applications including Ruby, UNIX, SQL, Selenium, JavaScript, Appium, and PERL.

The critical skills that we are looking for are the individual's ability to read, edit, write and de-bug scripts from at least one of the following - Ruby, SQL, Perl. They need to demonstrate their scripting experience within their CV - we won't consider any candidates that don't have this.

We're looking for someone with automation testing, NOT manual. However, in terms of the testing - we're not interested in candidates that simply push a button for testing.

We're looking for someone with basic knowledge of de-bugging - so they can find the bug, document the issue, and then work out what needs to be done to fix it. They'd be working with a colleague to fix issues.

They should have a basic knowledge of code programming, and basic editing and writing of automation programming.

In addition, someone that is technically enthusiastic - a real keen interest in technology, how it works, what lies beneath.
